Automating Notion Pages: What’s Changed?

It used to be impossible to automate Notion pages, but that’s no longer the case. You can finally add automation into your Notion workflow—but there are a few things to keep in mind.

Always Start with a Database

• Ordinary Notion pages cannot be automated. If you want to tap into automation features, you have to start with a database.
• Pages within databases can be automated. This opens up a lot of possibilities for making your workflow smoother.

While Airtable still feels like the more robust choice for certain tasks, integrating automation into your Notion knowledge base is a great advantage, especially if your knowledge base already lives in Notion.

Example of Notion Automation in Action

In this scenario, I have a Notion database where I input a URL. The automation retrieves information from that URL and writes a detailed report about the company directly in Notion. It’s a practical, real-world example!
